Are you a person who values development, engagement, and consideration in your work life? Then we would be a good match – because we do too. By working with us, you contribute to a better everyday life for families with children in the municipality of Arboga. With us, you have the opportunity to grow – both as a person and in your professional role, while what you work with helps an entire community to thrive.
Description
The Individual and Family Care department is seeking a family therapist for the open care of children and families. The target group is children and young people (0–21 years) and their families.
The position involves providing support and interventions both with and without needs assessment. This may include parents seeking support in their parenting role, young people needing to break a criminal behavior or drug use. It may also involve families needing to establish functioning routines to manage their daily lives.
The work group you will belong to is led by a team leader and consists of six family therapists, one project-employed preventive family therapist, and a school social worker who is part of a school social team.
The family therapist group's area of work is broad and includes individual conversations, as well as family conversations, parent groups, and child groups, as well as information meetings and collaboration meetings with external actors within schools, child and adolescent psychiatry, and more. With a broad target group, the work is varied, but there is also the opportunity for specialized competence within the group, even though all employees are responsible for the entire group's area of work.
You will document in our operational system Lifecare.
What can we offer you?
You will join a functioning work group with close leadership that actively works with development issues. In our workplace, authority exercise, treatment interventions, preventive and outreach work meet under one roof – always with the child's best interests in focus. Within the children and family unit, team leaders, reception secretaries, social workers, family law secretaries, child followers, and foster care secretaries also work.
When you start your position with us, you will receive a tailored introduction, regardless of whether you have extensive experience or are newly graduated. You will receive support in the introduction from your own mentor, team leader, and manager, all to ensure you have the best possible start with us. There is an established structure for regular support such as case discussions and external supervision.
Characteristics
As a person, you are mature, secure, responsible, resilient, and stable. You have the ability to maintain focus even in stressful situations. You take the initiative for development and meet challenges and new conditions with a positive attitude. You have the ability to work independently and in close collaboration with others.
Qualifications
You have a degree in social work or equivalent that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience working within social services/treatment work. Further education regarding evidence-based treatment methods for children/youth and families is an advantage. If you have experience leading child groups and parent groups, that is a plus.
You are accustomed to working and documenting with computer-based operational systems.
